The Nokia 6800 has been said to be one of the best cell phones with text messaging capabilities. At first glance, the 6800 looks just like any other phone, but upon flipping it open, it reveals a QWERTY pad which is ideal for the people who just love to text message.

To fit the QWERTY keypad along with all the applications, something has to give. In the case of the Nokia 6800, the weight and bulk of it has increased. For those of you into slim and smaller mobile phones, perhaps you will find the 6800 a tad bulky. On the other hand, because of its increased surface area, one does find it easier to type on the keypads.

Some other features include its outstanding audio capabilities. The Nokia 6800 audio is played through a pair of internal speakers instead of the more commonly used buzzers. As a result, you will get higher quality sounds, ring tones and alerts. This is essential due to the build in FM radio. With the internal speaker, radio stations sound great.

Finally, The Nokia 6800 has a 128 x 128 screen resolution 4096 color passive matrix display. The default screen will show 5 lines of text and a service line. However, when messaging, 8 lines of text and 2 service lines are displayed as a result of scaling. The screen is bright and clear under dim conditions. In bright sunshine however, there is a problem with the screen becoming washed out and difficult to read.

The Nokia 6800 is available in 900 and 1800 frequency ranges for European and Asian countries. A  North American version is set to be released using 850 and 1900 Hz.
